Witness Sees Newport Burglar in Action

A burglar recently stole several items from a home on East Ocean Front in Newport Beach, police reported.

A home in Newport Beach was recently burglarized and a witness saw the suspect in action, police reported.

The burglary occurred in the 1000 block of East Ocean Front on Wednesday, June 26 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. According to police, a witness saw a man removing an Xbox, DVD player, four lithography prints, and iPhone, speakers, a safe, bicycle and a skateboard from the home and loading it into a dark colored Toyota Camry with oxidized paint.

When the resident returned home, he found his front door unlocked and his property missing. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

The burglar was described as about 25 years, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing about 300 pounds with black hair in a ponytail.
