Victor Avalos scored in the 77th minute to lead Citrus Hill to a 2-1 victory over Sage Hill in a wild-card round game of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 boys' soccer playoffs Wednesday afternoon at Sage Hill High.
Jack Percival gave Sage Hill the early lead with a goal at the 21:45 mark, but Citrus Hill's Devon Almazan scored at the 26-minute mark and the score remained tied at one at halftime.
Adam Ellingson had six saves in goal for Sage Hill, and Tim Almazan has three for Citrus Hill.

Located in Perris, Citrus Hill is an at-large team from the Mountain Pass League and advances to play at Rosamond (13-6-0), the High Desert League champion, in a first-round match on Friday.
