Readers Name Worst Intersection in Newport Beach

Pacific Coast Highway and Superior Avenue is the worst intersection to drive through in Newport Beach, according to Patch readers.

It was a close race to find out which intersection Patch readers feel is the the worst in Newport Beach, but after the votes were tallied it was determined Pacific Coast Highway and Superior Avenue takes the cake.

Seventy people voted in the  contest and the majority said Pacific Coast Highway and Superior Avenue is the most dreaded intersection in the city. The intersection gained 11 votes, while East Coast Highway and Jamboree Road was a close second with 9 votes.

Linda Vas, Patch reader, says the intersection needs some major help.

"It's very busy with traffic. Dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists at corners where motorists are making right turns," Vas said. "I understand the city has approved another access road just north of this intersection which will bring even more traffic down to PCH through Coast Mesa and West Newport."
