Newport Beach Celebrates National Library Week

Special programs for youth and adults will be underway at city libraries through Saturday.

The Newport Beach Public Library will celebrate National Library Week through Saturday, April 14 with special programs for youth and adults.

National Library Week is celebrated across the country each April to honor the contributions of our nation’s libraries, to promote library use and support, and encourage reading.

 Highlights of the weeklong celebration include four special family shows: Mad Science Show at the Central Library on Tuesday, April 10 at 4 p.m.; Storytime with a Twist at the Corona del Mar Branch Library on Wednesday, April 11 at 4 p.m.; Dream with Your Hands at the Balboa Branch Library on Thursday, April 12 at 4 p.m.; and The Sunshine Storyteller at Crean Mariners Branch Library on Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m.  Storytimes during National Library Week will be hosted by Mayor Nancy Gardner and other members of the Newport Beach City Council. Ebook training classes, a book discussion group, and financial planning workshop will also be held during the weeklong celebration.
