Need a Designated Driver on New Year's Eve? OCTA is Giving Free Rides

The OCTA will be offering free bus rides to NYE revelers Saturday and Sunday.

Many people are planning on ringing in the new year with a few cocktails, so the Orange County Transportation Authority wants to make sure revelers have the chance at a free and safe ride home.

For the 10th year, the OCTA will offer complimentary rides between 6 p.m. Saturday, New Year's Eve and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, New Year's Day. OCTA Chair Patricia Bates says its the 10th year the organization is offering a safe and convenient way to celebrate the new year to OC residents.

“We encourage those out celebrating New Year’s Eve in Orange County to leave behind their cars and enjoy a free ride on the bus,” Bates said. “Knowing that an OCTA bus is there to get residents home safely is something that can give everyone peace of mind this holiday season.”
