Mayor Gives Netflix Key to Newport

Mayor Keith Curry hands a Netflix representative the key to the city as a thank you gift for bringing "Arrested Development's" Bluth Original Frozen Banana Stand to Balboa Island Sunday.

A key to the city was given to a Netflix representative Sunday morning by Mayor Keith Curry as a token of appreciation for bringing the “Arrested Development’s” Bluth Original Frozen Banana Stand to Balboa Island.

The key presentation took place just before the start of the 20th annual Balboa Island Parade.

"Thank you for bringing the frozen banana to Newport Beach. This is exactly where it belongs," Curry said as he handed over the key. "Arrested Development helped put the frozen banana back on the map and this is home of the frozen banana."

Curry said the key to the city is meant to welcome distinguished visitors and guests to Newport Beach.
