Cosmetologists cut about 50 people's hair, according to salon manager Sue Glendenning: "I would say it was a great success."

In addition to chopping hair, the cut-a-thon featured free facepainting, goodie bags and balloon animals. There was also a bake sale by nursing students at Stanbridge College to raise money for Shelterbox, an international disaster relief charity. The bake sale netted about $200, according to Glendenning.
