Hoag Ranked Among 'America's Best Hospitals'

Newport Beach's Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian earns national recognition from U.S. News & World Report for ranking 49th in orthopedic care. The hospital ranks as the No. 7 hospital in the Los Angeles area.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has been ranked as one of the best hospitals in the country, according to the U.S. News & World Report.

The annual hospital rankings were released Tuesday, listing Newport Beach's Hoag Hospital No. 49 in the country for orthopedics, No. 14 in the state and No. 7 in the Los Angeles area.

According to the report, Hoag was ranked as high-performing in cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, geriatrics, nephrology, pulmonology,  gastroenterology and GI surgery, gynecology, neurology and neurosurgery, and urology.

The 24th annual Best Hospitals in America report analyzed about 5,000 medical centers.
