Health Warnings Issued in Newport Beach

Signs warning of unhealthy bacteria levels were posted this week at Little Corona Beach and the Newport Slough.

Health warning signs were posted this week at two sections of Newport Beach, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

On Thursday afternoon the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Ocean Water Protection Program posted warning signs at Little Corona Beach and at Lancaster and Canal streets at the Newport Slough.

According to health officials, the bacteria levels exceed health standards and contact with the water may cause illness.
