Health Warning Issued at the Wedge

Signs warning of unhealthy bacteria levels were posted by Orange County health officials.

Some areas in Newport Beach are under a health advisory today, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

Around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Ocean Water Protection Program posted warning signs 500 feet at the Wedge, and 150 feet upcoast and 150 feet downcoast of Orange Street.

According to health officials, the bacteria levels exceed health standards and contact with the water may cause illness.
