Health Warning Issued Near Lancaster Street

Signs warning of unhealthy bacteria levels were posted Tuesday afternoon.

Health warning signs were posted today at a section of Newport Beach, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

On Tuesday afternoon the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Ocean Water Protection Program posted warning signs at Lancaster and Canal streets at the Newport Slough.

According to health officials, the bacteria levels exceed health standards and contact with the water may cause illness.
