Firefighters Douse Newport Home Fire

Fire officials say no one was injured in the early morning fire on Thursday.

Firefighters knocked down a non-injury house fire in Newport Beach early Thursday, a Newport Beach Fire Department dispatcher said.

The single-alarm blaze broke out in the garage of the home at 16 Hertford at 3:28 a.m., the dispatcher said.

"We dispatched seven units to the scene," the dispatcher said. "The fire was extinguished at 4:01 a.m."

No one was injured, she added.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, she said.
