Donate Blood at Hoag, Get Free Pizza
Blood and platelet donors will receive a free lunch Thursday at Hoag Hospital.
Hoag Hospital is encouraging people to stop by its health center on Thursday to help save a life.
Blood donations will be taken Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Hoag Health Center, 510 Superior Ave., Suite 130. Those who donate blood or platelets will receive a free pizza lunch from Mario's in Newport Beach.
The American Red Cross reports every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, but only 5 percent of the eligible population donates blood each year. The blood type most often needed is Type O. The American Red Cross reports one donation can save up to three lives.
