Complimentary Flu Shots at OASIS

The clinic will be held today in Corona del Mar.

Hoag Hospital will be providing free flu vaccinations today at the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar.

The clinic will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., in room 1 at the OASIS. It will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and appointments are not necessary. The flu shot will contain the H1N1 influenza virus and will be available to people 18 years and older. Pregnant women and children wil not be offered the vaccine.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is best to get the vaccine prior to December to make sure protective antibodies develop before flu activity is at its peak.
