Click It or Ticket, Summer Nights at Pelican Hill, Pool Fundraiser

The five things you need to know for May 25.

1. The Newport Beach Police Department is joining with law enforcement officers nationwide in the 2011 Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization. Now through through Sunday, June 5, police will crack down on motorists all day and night. For more details about the campaign, click here

2. Starting Friday, May 27, Pelican Hill Resort is inviting residents and visitors to its weekend summer nights of Hot Dancing and Chilled Martinis. The events will take place every Friday and Saturday, from 8 to 11:30 p.m. and feature live entertainment by Broadway's Adam Michaelson. For more information, click here.

3. The final phase of the Marian Bergeson Aquatics Center is under way at Corona del Mar High School, and the community's support is needed. The first three phases of the pool renovation will include a replastered pool, a renovated building, snack bar, state-of-the-art scoreboard and murals.  To find out how you can donate a tax-deductible contribution to help complete the project, visit Corona del Mar Community Aquatics Facilities Foundation.

4.  Today there will be a zoning administrator hearing at 3:30 p.m. at the council chambers, 3300 Newport Blvd. Read the agenda here.
