Change Your Clocks - And Batteries Too

It's a great time to ensure that smoke alarms are functioning properly.

It's that time of year again when we fall back and enjoy an extra hour of sleep. As long as you're changing the clock, take a look at the smoke alarm too.

Every year, smoke alarms save hundreds of lives. Whether you're awake or asleep, the smoke alarm is constantly working and scanning the air for smoke and fire, provided it has good batteries in it.

The National Fire Protection Association reported that between 2003 and 2006, more than 66 percent of home fire deaths occurred in homes that did not have a working smoke alarm.
