Burglar Steals from Home While Resident is Outside

An unlocked home in Newport Beach was recently burglarized while the resident was outside in the backyard, police reported. 

The burglary took place on Thursday, July 4 around 6 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Opal Avenue. According to Newport Beach police, the suspect entered the home through an open or unlocked Dutch door and stole an iPad from the living room table. The resident was in the backyard with friends while the burglary was taking place, police said. 

The burglar fled without been seen or heard by anyone.
