Alert: Road Work on Pacific Coast Highway

Road work will be underway from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Caltrans crews began work today on a construction project that will affect traffic  on a two-mile stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach.

The Caltrans project is underway on Pacific Coast Highway from School-State Park to Newport Coast Drive where crews will grind the existing roadway, conduct resurfacing with a rubberized asphalt overlay and install new striping. Caltrans officials say the work is being done to preserve and extend the pavement life.

Construction will impact the area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday through Memorial Day Weekend.
