A City Council Meeting, a School Board Meeting, Senior Scholarships

The five things you need to know for May 10.

1. The Newport Beach City Council will meet tonight, at 7 p.m. at the council chambers, 3300 Newport Blvd. The council will review another revised version of an ordinance designed to reign in Loud & Unruly Gatherings. Read the complete agenda here.

2. The Newport-Mesa Unified School District's board meeting is scheduled for today, at 7 p.m., 2985 Bear St., Costa Mesa. Read the agenda here.

3. Dont forget! The Corona del Mar High School PTA will award $600 scholarships to 15 graduating seniors. The scholarships reward and encourage good students who have proven involvement in meaningful extracurricular activities, made positive contributions to the school and community, and have shown diligence and/or creativity in achieving academic and/or personal goals, ethical and moral behavior and development of a vision for the future. A 2.5 GPA is required but is not the leading criterion. Applications are available in the counseling office today and must be returned there by May 13 at 1:30 p.m

4.  The OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar is looking for seniors to showcase their talents at the first ever OASIS Talent Showcase on Wednesday, July 20. Performers will be given six minutes to perform on stage during the talent show. To submit your idea, please contact Justin at 949- 718-1826.

5. Today will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
