5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 28

Prescriptions, Facebook and a sunny day.

1. Today, from 9 a.m. to noon, a pharmacist will be at the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar answering questions about prescriptions. Please bring in all over- the-counter prescriptions, plus any vitamins or mineral supplements you are currently taking that you have questions about. Nurse Marilyn Geller and County of Orange, Health Care Agency, Pharmacist Bill Liu will answer your questions.  Call 949- 644-3244 for an appointment or for more information.

2. Orange County Restaurant Week is underway and runs through March 5. Several Newport Beach and Corona del Mar eateries are among the 100 participating restaurants.

3. Newport Beach Mayor Mike Henn has started a Facebook page to keep residents informed about what is happening around the city. Check it out and request him as a friend.

4. Help raise money for the Corona del Mar High School Foundation by signing up to receive daily Plum Deals, which sends members a deal that relates to them and their busy lives—everything from spa treatments and restaurants to family outings and kids' activities. It's easy to participate. Just click on plumdistrict.com to get started. For every person who signs up, Plum District will donate $3 to the CDM foundation.

5. Today will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
