5 Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 21

Holiday closures, a City Council meeting and practice SAT results.

1. Don't forget! City Hall, city libraries, schools, banks and post offices will be closed today in observance of Presidents Day. 

2. The Newport Beach City Council will meet tomorrow, Feb. 22., at 7 p.m. at the council chambers, 3300 Newport Blvd. Read the agenda here.

3. Students who took the practice SAT test at the Newport Beach Public Library on Feb. 12 can pick up their test results tomorrow, Feb. 22, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Central Library. A Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions representative will be at the event to explain how to understand the scores.

4.  Former U.S. poet laureate Billy Collins, who is referred to as "the most popular poet in America," by the New York Times, will be at the Central Library on Friday, Feb. 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $50, to order call 949-548-2411.

5. Today will be partly cloudy, with highs in the upper 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
