5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 19

1. Today is the last day Santa Claus will be at Roger's Gardens. Visit from noon to 6 p.m. and stop by the Disney gazebo, where Santa Claus will be listening to children's Christmas lists. For more information, read our story here.

2. Tonight is the last night of the 102nd Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. Festivities start at 6:30 p.m., rain or shine, and end with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. The parade, which charts a 14-mile route through the harbor, can be viewed from public waterfront areas on the Balboa Peninsula and Balboa Island, as well as from several waterfront establishments along the route. 3. 4. The Newport Beach Police Department is continuing its crackdown on juveniles who may be violating curfew throughout the school holiday vacation period. The city curfew ordinance prohibits any person under the age of 18 from loitering in public streets, alleys, and other public places between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Read the ordinance here.

5. Today will be cloudy and rainy, with highs in the low 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
