5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 4

1. The Newport Beach Citizens Bicycle Safety Committee will meet today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. See the agenda here.

2. Come out and support the Corona del Mar baseball teams this week at Tacos & Co., 3601 Jamboree Road in Newport Beach. The fundraisers will be held Tuesday, April 5, and Friday, April 8, from 5 to 9 p.m.  Tacos & Co. will donate 30 percent of the proceeds to the baseball teams.

3. Don't forget! The Corona del Mar High School PTA will meet Wednesday, April 6, at 8:30 a.m., in the school's library. 

4. The Corona del Mar High School PTA will award $600 scholarships to 15 graduating seniors. The scholarships reward and encourage good students who have proven involvement in meaningful extracurricular activities, made positive contributions to the school and community, and have shown diligence and/or creativity in achieving academic and/or personal goals, ethical and moral behavior and development of a vision for the future. A 2.5 GPA is required but is not the leading criterion. Applications are available in the counseling office today and must be returned there by May 13 at 1:30 p.m.
