5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 30

A grand opening, the O.C. Marathon and a garden contest.

1. Today, from 9 a.m to 5 p.m., Party All the Time in Corona del Mar will be celebrating its grand opening. The store, at 2747 E. Coast Highway, opened in February and has a little bit of everything you would need while party planning, including novelty gifts, paper gifts, candy and even houses an eco-friendly plant collection from Green Thumb Garage. 2. Runners will flock to Newport Beach on Sunday for the O.C. Marathon. The starting line will be at Newport Center Drive, just south of Santa Barbara Drive. Check here for road closure information. Runners can register online through Wednesday. In addition to the main event, there is a half-marathon and a 5K run. Registration fees are $110 for the marathon, $95 for the half-marathon and $45 for the 5K.

3. Don't forget! The deadline to enter your California Friendly garden in the Roger's Gardens contest is tomorrow. Judges will award a $1,500 grand prize to the garden that best demonstrates California Friendly elements. To find out more information, click here.

4. Registration for city summer camps is now open. Early bird rate is available through May 5. More info here.

5. Today will be sunny, with highs in the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
