5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 14

1. Today, from 3 to 5 p.m., there will be a Coastal/Bay Water Quality Committee meeting, at the Newport Beach City Hall's fire conference room, 3300 Newport Blvd. Read the agenda here.
2. If you are interested in helping in the fight against cancer, the OASIS FOO Fighters team is looking for more supporters at the 10th annual Newport Beach Relay for Life. The event is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and will take place Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22, at Newport Harbor High School. 3. On Friday, April 15, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar will host an afternoon dance. If you like to the music of the '40s, '50s and '60s, stop by the event center for some fun.

4. Don't forget! Applications and essays are still being accepted for the Brad Evans' Memorial Scholarship. Two $1,000 awards are available to all Corona del Mar seniors who graduated from Harbor View Elementary. Completed applications are due by Friday, April 29.
