Update: 598 Edison Customers Without Power in Newport Beach

Outage started just after noon on Friday for unknown reasons. Southern California Edison does not have an estimated time frame of when power will be restored.

A power outage knocked out power Friday to close to 600 Newport Beach customers, Southern California Edison reported.

The outage started at about 12:02 p.m. As of 2 p.m., 598 people were without power in the area of Bristol Street and Jamboree Road.

The cause of the power outage was unknown, according to Edison's online outage map.

No other information was immediately available.
