Over the last several months the community has tried to help Corona del Mar's beloved Toy Boat! Toy Boat! Toy Boat!'s  stay afloat, but the iconic toy store has closed its doors.

"As you can imagine, this is heart breaking for us," Curtin said. "We did everything we could to stay afloat & have put our lives into our beloved toy store."

Toy Boat organized several fundraisers to help generate money, the most recent was a gold fundraiser in January.

The community's toy store, which has been in CDM for more than 50 years, fell on tough economic times in July, a victim of the prolonged recession. Toy Boat was approached by KFI AM 640, which hosted a Cash Mob. The event brought in hundreds of customers and led to the sale of more than 600 toys and countless donations.

"We are so touched and appreciative of the support by the local community over the years," Curtin said.
