Alessa Cucina is the best Italian place.
It's been a loooooooooooong time since I've been impressed by an Italian place in Newport Beach . It's a quaint little place with a cutey rustic atmosphere which does translate into "not as roomy" as newer restaurants. However, the food and service more than make up for the almost cramp conditions. ( loud ) I have been there since they opened. Awesome!!!

Mama D's in Newport Beach. Not only is the food really good, but the service is unparalleled. The only drawback is the parking.
