News Brief: Look What's Coming to Fashion Island

If Fashion Island is your shopping destination of choice, you should know that the selection of stores is about to grow.

Later this month, Waterman will open its doors at Fashion Island. The store will will carry apparel, footwear and accessories for men who enjoy surfing, paddling and fishing. Along with the Waterman and Quiksilver collections, the store will carry boards and other items that cater to the active lifestyle.

In the fall, three more stores are set to open at Fashion Island. Athleta—an apparel company dedicated to dressing the active woman—was acquired by Gap Inc. in 2008 and caters to women between ages 30 and 50. The store will offer women’s fitness and lifestyle apparel, footwear and accessories for yoga, running, swimming, hiking and skiing. Athleta will be situated between the Nordstrom and Pacific courts.

"Athleta’s mission is to inspire women to lead a more active and adventurous life and to deliver beautiful, high-quality, unique products," said Callie Canfield, spokeswoman for Athleta.

Earnest Sewn will open its first Orange County store at Fashion Island and will carry men’s and women’s denim, twills and shorts, T-shirts, dresses, sweaters and outerwear. The store will also carry accessories, shoes, home accents and pet accessories. 

Francesca’s Collections, also opening in the fall, will offer shoppers a treasure chest of unique gifts, apparel, home decor, accessories and jewelry from different parts of the world.  The boutique will be between the Iris Fountain and Macy’s.
