Wanna Win $5k? Dine Out During Newport Beach Restaurant Week

Newport Beach Restaurant Week is in full swing and if you're a foodie indulging on all the good eats, make sure you're also taking advantage of your chance to win $5,000.

During Restaurant Week-- which runs through Sunday, Jan. 29-- the Newport Beach Restaurant Association and event sponsor SpreeBird Deals will be giving away chances to win the cash prize. Peggy Fort, restaurant week director, says one restaurant week participant is eligbile to win $5,000 and the restaurant where the winning participant dines will also get $5,000.

"We are trying to create a fun way to encourage people to dine out frequently during Newport Beach Restaurant Week," Fort said. "The more diners go to participating restaurants the more chances they have to collect the card and enter to win the money."

In order to enter the contest, participating restaurants will be giving diners a SpreeBird card with their bill. Diners then need to go online and enter the promo code on the card to enter the contest. If you ordered from the Newport Beach Restauarant Week menu and didn't receive a card, make sure to ask the restaurant for one. 

This year 60 restaurants are participating in the citywide event offering menus for lunch and dinner, ranging from $15 to $40 per person, and at a discount from last year's prices.

"The three course prix-fixe menus look delicious and the price points are $5 less than in 2011, which gives the community an added incentive and incredible opportunity to dine out frequently during restaurant week at a great price," Fort said.

Diners can also enter to win the $5,000 by signing up on newportbeachdining.com. Winners will be announced on Feb 6.
