Lido Village Artisan Market Gearing Up for Debut

The Lido Village Artisan Market replaces the Pelican Courtyard Open Air Market. Community support is needed to keep the market going every Sunday in 2013.

If you are on the hunt for unique trinkets and treasures, be sure to check out the new Lido Village Artisan Market opening later this month .

On Sunday, Jan. 20 the Lido Village Artisan Market will showcase up to 40 vendors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in conjunction with the Newport Beach Farmers' Market. Kathy Shaw, market organizer, says when it opens the market will start on a one month trial basis, and will have everything non-perishable from jewelry, pottery and lots of fun and funky vintage items.

Community support is needed to keep the market going every Sunday in 2013.

"I think every vendor will offer unique and interesting finds," Shaw told Patch. "These small business vendors participating have a passion for what they do and they search estate sales and spend hours making jewelry and creating some truly unique pieces."

While the vendors stay busy during the holidays, the Lido Village Artisan Market will help keep them busy throughout the rest of the year.

"My passion is for making these small business owners successful with a place to sell their work all year long," Shaw said.

To give customers an insight into what the market has to offer weekly, Shaw created a Facebook page which will have a biography and a picture of what each vendor sells, along with contact information for them incase shoppers want to contact them before or after the market.

The Lido Village Artisan Market is located at 3400 Via Oporto in Newport Beach.
