Jersey Mike's Subs opened its doors Wednesday in Newport Beach, and are offering free subs all week to welcome the community.

The new Jersey Mike's location, at 1318 Bison Ave. in Newport Beach, is operated by franchise owners Hector and Jennifer Haget. Grand opening festivities continue through Sunday with free subs being offered to support Corona del Mar High School. Jersey Mike's is circulating 2,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 which will be donated to the high school.

“Opening up in Newport Beach is an exciting move as we expand the Jersey Mike’s brand toward the coast, said Hector Haget. “This will be our seventh location in southern Orange County and we are teaming up with Corona Del Mar High School for our grand opening fundraiser.  Working with the high school is a fun way for us to get involved with the community and give back to the students.”

The Newport Beach location is the seventh Jersey Mike’s store for the Hagets.  They also own Jersey Mike’s locations in Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Orange, Tustin, Foothill Ranch, Lake Forest, and Irvine.

Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes, according to company officials.

Jersey Mike's Subs is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 9p.m. The store can be reached at 949-721-1052.
