Yogurt Shop Serves Up Tasty Community Service

Icicles donates a portion of its happy hour sales to local schools.

Frozen yogurt is an after-school favorite for local students, and it tastes even better when it's for a good cause.

Over the last several months Icicles Frozen Yogurt, located at 2545 Eastbluff Dr. in Corona del Mar, has been donating 10 percent of its happy hour (5-7 p.m. daily) earnings to local schools and the plan is to keep the fundraisers going.

"We began to team up with Eastbluff originally because they are literally right around the corner and the kids come in every day after school as a meeting spot for parents or just to enjoy the company of their friends," said Ayelet Cohen, the store's marketing director. "So far we have managed to donate almost $300 to Eastbluff Elementary School and a similar amount to Lincoln Elementary."

Icicles started their school fundraisers in September as a way to thank its loyal customers and each month rotate to a different school or organization. This month the happy hour fundraiser will benefit the Boys and Girls Club, followed by The Orchesis Dance Program at Corona del Mar High School.

Icicles is always looking for additional schools and organizations to partner with, for more information, call 949-760-9900.
