Hardware Store Collecting Letters for Santa Claus

If your children want to hear from Santa Claus this Christmas, make sure you get their letters to Crown Ace Hardware in Newport Beach.

The chain of family-run hardware stores has set up special Santa mailboxes at each of its 17 stores, including the ones in Corona del Mar and Newport Beach. Parents are encouraged to drop off their childrens' letters, and include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for a return letter from the North Pole.

“The holidays are a special time when we can all be kids at heart," Mark Schulein, the store's president, said. "And this is our chance to connect with our local residents and give back."

If you would like your children to receive a response letter from Santa, Schulein says letters should be dropped off by Wednesday, Dec. 5. Otherwise, Crown Ace will still welcome any letters to be dropped off in the mailbox through Christmas Eve.
