Gas Prices in O.C. Set Thanksgiving Day High

Despite dropping for 45 straight days, the $3.776 price per gallon is more than 5 cents higher than the mark set last year.

The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County has set a Thanksgiving Day record high of $3.776, despite decreasing for 45 consecutive days, including seven-tenths of a cent Thursday morning.

The previous high for Thanksgiving was $3.723, a record set last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price has dropped 91.4 cents over the past 45 days, including a half-cent on Wednesday, and is at its lowest amount since July 21.

The average price is 2.6 cents more than one year ago, but 4.7 cents less than one week ago and 66.7 cents lower than a month ago.
