Le Pain Quotidien's grand opening will take place Thursday at Fashion Island.

A grand opening aimed at filling the stomachs of needy children is on schedule this week at Fashion Island.

Belgian bakery and café Le Pain Quotidien will host a fundraiser Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m at its Pacific Court location at Fashion Island. The Help End Childhood Hunger event is being held in conjunction with Share Our Stength , a national nonprofit that works to end childhood hunger in America.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling Judy Walker at 949-481-7792 or via email at jwalker@strength.org. Guests will be able to experience Le Pain Quotidien’s renowned tartines, desserts, and organic beverages, all set around a communal table, a trademark piece for the restaurant.
