Free Plums Lunch at Hoag Blood Drive
Today blood and platelet donors will receive a free lunch from Plums Cafe.
Hoag Hospital and Plums Cafe have teamed up to provide free lunch today to anyone who donates blood or platelets.
Blood donations will be taken today from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Hoag Health Center, 510 Superior Ave., Suite 130. Anyone who donates will receive a free lunch from Plums Cafe. Hoag spokeswoman Meghan Voisinet says the great thing about donating at the health center is that it will benefit the local community.
"Each unit of blood donated goes directly to a patient at Hoag," she said.

One unit of blood can benefit up to three people, she said.
