If your child loves to cook and has a great personality, he or she could win a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond from Newport Beach's chef/restaurateur Zov Karamardian.
Karamardian, owner of Zov’s Neighborhood Café & Bar in Newport Coast and cookbook author, is looking for budding chefs 12 and younger. Parents are encouraged to record their child preparing a dish, no more than three minutes long, upload it onto YouTube then forward the link to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Zov launched her Kid Chef Search last year to help teach children about healthy eating.
“Last year's event was such a success we wanted to replicate it,” Zov said. “We are looking forward to seeing what talent we uncover this year.”
Submissions will be accepted until Monday, March 18. Five finalists and their families will be selected to attend an awards ceremony at Zov’s Neighborhood Café & Bar where local food critics and journalists will pick the winning video.
Zov’s Neighborhood Cafés & Bar are located in Newport Beach and Irvine, and Zov's Bistro and Bakery is in Tustin. If you are interested in donating to Zov’s Kid Chef Scholarship program, call 714-838-8855 for more information.
