Cockroaches Close Local Tiki Bar

Cockroaches found at the Tiki Bar in nearby Costa Mesa forced the restaurant to shut its doors temporarily.

Costa Mesa's Tiki Bar was recently closed temporarily by county health officials after inspectors found cockroaches inside the bar area of the restaurant.

During a routine inspection on March 19, Tiki Bar was cited with one major health violation for cockroach infestation, and six minor health violations. According to the health report, inspectors found "numerous live cockroaches and cockroach spotting in the cabinets below the bar," and other evidence of infestation.

Tiki Bar was later allowed to reopen after a follow-up inspection.
