A store designed to help people stimulate their brain opens today at Fashion Island.
Marbles: The Brain Store specializes on improving brain functions including coordination, critical thinking, memory, visual perception and word skills. The store -- which is the first in Orange County -- sells a collection of games, puzzles, books and software designed to strengthen the brain.
“Our product offering is based on the revolutionary principal of neuroplasticity, or how you can generate new brain cells and form new connections by stimulating the brain in different ways,” said Lindsay Gaskins, the company's CEO. “We believe that game play and other types of cognitive stimulation can impact how your brain works and may even be able to ward off cognitive decline.”
Marbles’ customer base includes parents, educators, students, caregivers and therapists. New shoppers are encouraged to test products at demo stations located throughout the store.
“We want people to have fun while they stimulate and boost their brainpower,” Gaskins said.
