Thousands of food lovers are expected at Fashion Island this weekend for the 24th annual Taste of Newport, and police want to make sure you are aware of the road closures.
Beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, Newport Center Drive will be closed between Santa Rosa and San Miguel drives, and San Nicholas Drive will be closed between Newport Center Drive and Avocado Avenue. The road closures will remain in effect through late Sunday.
Foodies will enjoy dishes prepared by chefs from nearly 35 Newport Beach restaurants and drinks from 15 California wineries. The Taste of Newport will take place Friday from 6 to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.
Self parking will be available for free inside the two parking structures located at Santa Rosa Drive and Newport Center Drive. Valet parking will also be available near Santa Rosa Drive.
Don't forget! Parking is not permitted in the main parking lots at Fashion Island.
Taste of Newport tickets can be purchased online for $22, or at the event gate for $25. Children under the age of 8 get in for free.
