Port Theater Now Serving Alcohol

Corona del Mar's Port Theater announces its new bar which offers beer, wine and top-shelf spirits to movie-goers.

The Port Theater reopened in Corona del Mar last summer, and now it's offering movie-goers alcoholic beverages.

Soon after its makeover last summer the Port Theater began efforts to obtain a liquor license. which it received on April 10 from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The license is valid through March 2014 and allows the Port Theater to serve beer, wine and top-shelf spirits.

“We hope we can now finally provide a complete service," Jessica Prause, theater spokeswoman, said in a released statement. "We would like to thank over 1,000 Newport Beach and Corona del Mar residents who wrote letters and emails on our behalf to receive this approval.”
