Police: No Jumping Off Lido Isle Bridge

The warm weather sends swimmers to the water, but the Newport Beach Police Department says jumping and diving is not allowed at the Lido Isle Bridge.

As temperatures continue to climb, more people gravitate toward the Lido Isle Bridge in Newport Beach to cool off.

But Newport Beach police say residents and visitors need to remember jumping and diving is not allowed.

"We generally see the number of incidents of jumping off the Lido Isle Bridge increase during the summer months," Kathy Lowe, police spokeswoman, said. "This a community advisory that we send out each summer as a reminder that this activity is not only dangerous, but illegal."
