Some areas of Newport Bay are under a health advisory today, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Ocean Water Protection Program posted warning signs at 19th Street Beach in Newport Bay, and 300 feet near the pedestrian bridge at Newport Dunes.
According to health officials, the bacteria levels exceed health standards and contact with the water may cause illness.
