Watch Out For 'Hangover' Freeway Closures This Weekend

Filming of the raunchy comedy 'Hangover 3' will close down portions of the Corona del Mar (73) Freeway today and Sunday, a project netting the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor at least $20,000.

Parts the Corona del Mar (73) Freeway will be closed part of today and the stretch between the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway and Jamboree Road will be closed all day Sunday.

Starting about 5 a.m. today, parts of the Warner Bros. movie ``Hangover 3'' were shot in southbound lanes between the San Diego (405) and Costa Mesa (55) freeway until about 1:30 p.m.

Tomorrow, the southbound 73 will be closed between Costa Mesa (55) Freeway and the Jamboree Road interchange between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Bristol Street, which is a frontage road there, is the posted detour.

Northbound lanes will be closed from Jamboree Road to Campus Drive -- a roughly 1-mile segment -- from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and again from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Farther south, the 73 becomes a toll road, and Warner Bros. will pay the San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor  $20,000 for use of the road, and as much as $5,000 to cover the loss tolls.
