Update: Health Warning Lifted from Newport Bay

Bacteria levels exceeded health standards this week.

Health officials lifted a health advisory today that was issued for a section of Newport Bay earlier this week, the Orange County Health Care Agency reported.

The Orange County Health Care Agency’s Ocean Water Protection Program issued a bacteria warning Tuesday for the east side of Newport Dunes and 38th Street Beach in Newport Bay. According to health officials, the bacteria levels exceeded health standards.


Officials said there is no longer a health risk to the public.
