Traffic Alert: San Miguel to Close Monday for Roadwork

Eastbound San Miguel Drive, from MacArthur Boulevard to San Joaquin Hills Road, will be closed for two weeks to make way for a new water main.

Beginning Monday a section of San Miguel Drive will be closed to traffic for roadwork, the city announced.

A section of eastbound San Miguel Drive, between MacArthur Boulevard and San Joaquin Hills Road, will be closed for two weeks through Nov. 8 for a crews to install a new water main under the roadway.

Work will be underway from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is part of the city's Corona del Mar Water Transmission Main project which will improve water supply to the Corona del Mar section of Newport Beach.

The westbound San Miguel Drive lanes will remain open at all times.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternative routes including Newport Coast Drive or Jamboree Road.
