Toshiba Classic: Day One

Nick Price shoots 11-under-par 60 to tie course record Friday under sunny skies at the Newport Beach Country Club.

The Toshiba Classic 2011 kicked off the first of three rounds Friday at the Newport Beach Country Club.

Professional Nick Price had a phenomenal day, shooting an eagle on 18 and tying the course record with an 11-under-par 60 to take a five-stroke lead.

Tied for second at six-under 65 are Bernhard Langer, Mark Wiebe, Mark O'Meara and Brad Bryant.

Tied for at 66 are David Peoples, Fred Couples and Andy Bean.

The course record of 60 was set by Tom Purtzer.

To sum up the day, Dudley Johnson of Newport Beach said,"What a delightful day. Fortunately, the tsunami didn't cause any damage."
