The Great Escape: For Our Foodie Moms

Another week has almost flown by, and you might just be lucky enough to have some free time to yourself. If so, we have the perfect way to spend it.

This week’s Great Escape is all about food. Foodies, are you there? So while the kids are doing their thing, why not take a cooking class or two? Sur La Table, located at 832 Avocado Ave. in Newport Beach, always has a full calendar of fun choices.

"We know that women today have many responsibilities and need to de-stress, so we decided to have classes from pretty much opening to closing times and all throughout the week,"  said Rochelle Taylor, a chef at the store. "Hopefully, with so many times and choices, everyone will find something on our schedule."

In addition to classes being offered at various times and on several days, the classes can also be taken alone, with a friend or with a significant other. Classes range in topic from kitchen basics and knife skills to ethnic cuisines and holiday and special event menus. Reservations are a must, as space is limited, and classes sell out quickly.
