Newport Girl Handpicked to Sing With 'Wicked' Star

Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth brings a 9-year-old from Newport Beach on stage during her solo performance at Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa.

A young Kristin Chenoweth fan from Newport Beach received a once in a lifetime surprise when the star picked her to perform a duet this week.

On Monday Brooke Besikof, 9, attended Chenoweth's solo concert at Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. During the show Chenoweth told the audience she needed someone to perform a duet with her. Brooke raised her hand and was picked by Chenoweth to duet the song "For Good" with her.

"It was an incredible feeling to see her up there. I think I was more nervous than she was, she loves to be on stage," Sarah Besikof, Brooke's mom, told Patch. "It was a dream of hers to meet Kristin Chenoweth, her idol, from her favorite Broadway play "Wicked."

Chenoweth's live performance was the first since an accident on the set of CBS' "The Good Wife" in July left her with a fractured skull, nose and broken ribs.
